A fire which broke out just after midnight in difficult terrain near Kouris dam in Alassa has been contained after burning seven hectares of dry grass, wild vegetation and pine trees.
Six fire trucks and two water dropping helicopters tackled the blaze which was completely contained a little after 8 am on Sunday.
Fire fighters remain on site to prevent a flare up.
The fire service and police investigating how the fire broke out.
