Fire breaks out in “Hope For Children” premises in Larnaca, no one gets injured

Relevant News

A fire broke out on Thursday evening on the first floor of the “Hope For Children” premises in Larnaca but was quickly put off and no one got injured.

This is what Philenews reported on Friday citing Fire Brigade spokesman Andreas Ketti who also said that the fire caused extensive damage to one room only.

Heavy smoke had overtaken the rest of the second floor but all children were taken away from the premises before even the prompt arrival of the Fire Brigade.

The fire was fully extinguished at 22:25, he also said.

The children residing in the building were transferred to a hotel for the evening.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing with Ketti saying the carelessness of a minor was most probably the reason.

“Hope for Children” is an international humanitarian and independent Institution established on standards and principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and European Union Law.

It works on humanitarian and development policy relevant to the defense and promotion of children’s rights.
