A fire which broke out between Avdimou and Prastio in the Limassl district around noon on Saturday has been contained thanks to the immediate mobilisation of firefighters by land and air.
Fire services spokesman Andreas Kettis said that four fire trucks and four water dropping aircraft had managed to contain the fire.
About one hectare of dry grass, wild vegetation and carob trees were burnt.
