A fire broke out just before three at a short distance behind Nicosia General Hospital.
It was burning old tyres and dry weeds and was described as manageable.
Responding were two fire service vehicles from Nicosia stations and three from the forestry department, using both water and foam to put it out.
The tyres were from an abandoned machine workshop, which was affected by the fire.
