A fire which broke out around noon near Sykopetra in the Limassol district was put under control in less than three hours thanks to the immediate mobilisation of fire fighters.
Fire department spokesman Andreas Kettis said that eight fire engines and two fire fighting aircraft were able to check the fire which burned a small expanse of fruit trees, wild vegetation and dry grass.
Fire fighters remain on the scene to fully extinguish the fire.
