A fire that broke out at noon on Monday in the area between Arediou and Agios Ioannis Malountas, is now under control.
The fire burned 5 acres of dry weeds and wild vegetation, and a number of trees in an olive grove, while houses and establishments have been protected.
According to Andreas Kettis, spokesman of the Fire Service, two manned fire engines took part in the fire-fighting together with two aircraft from Israel and people from the District Administration of Nicosia and the Forestry Department.
