A day of full sunshine on Monday with an orange alert for extremely high temperatures in effect till 5pm, according to the Met Office.
Winds will be variable, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort over smooth to slight sea waters.
The temperature will rise to 42 degrees Celsius inland, 37 in most coastal regions and 35 in the mountains.
