Final decision on ‘Ygia’ polyclinic in Limassol also joining Gesy on April 11

Relevant News

The final decision on whether ‘Ygia’ Polyclinic Private Hospital in Limassol also joins the island’s General Health System (Gesy) will be taken on April 11 at a set general meeting of the shareholders, Philenews reports.

Interesting is the fact that some of the shareholders are among the 20 or so doctors outside the system which are demanding additional time before the final decision is taken so that they secure a new medical shelter.

Something that is almost impossible since all other private hospitals in the coastal town have already joined Gesy.

At the same time, insiders said the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) has completed consultations with hospitals in the system on the new way of compensation.

One also said the organization is working to finalize the qualitative criteria that will now be taken into account but also the weight that each criterion will have on the amount of remuneration of hospitals within Gesy.

The changes the HIO may proceed with will be the outcome of proposed suggestions by the hospitals, while the final structure of the new agreement may be delayed. Because the State Health Services Organization has yet to submit its own position.
