Sunday’s total number of new coronavirus cases rose to 26-UPDATED

Eleven new Covid-19 cases were detected in Cyprus by Sunday evening in addition to 15  announced earlier in the day bringing the day’s total to 26.

This is what the Health Ministry announced, adding that the Mediterranean island’s total number of cases detected since the outbreak of the pandemic now stands at 1,150.

The latest 11 cases were detected among 1,977 lab tests.

Six of the cases concern passengers of flight from Greece and Switzerland.

Specifically, one person who arrived from Athens on Saturday, while three of the cases concern passengers from Thessaloniki who arrived on Friday.

Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry announced 15 new coronavirus cases out of a total of 947 tests in Cyprus. Ten were detected in coastal Limassol which is recording rising numbers.

Specifically, out of 132 samples from individuals tested on private initiative, five tested positive to the virus.

And out of 611 samples in Limassol from among 3,000 of the random ones being taken all across Cyprus, 10 individuals tested positive.
