The EU27 expressed their full solidarity with Cyprus, recalled and reaffirmed previous conclusions on Turkey’s illegal drilling activity, during a European Council video-conference held today regarding the EU`s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In particular, as Charles Michel, the President of the European Council stated while briefing the Press after the meeting, “the illegal drilling activities by Turkey in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone were raised by some Member States”. “We expressed our full solidarity with Cyprus and recalled and reaffirmed our previous conclusions on this matter”, Charles Michel noted.
