The EPP (European People`s Party) Commission spitzenkandidat Manfred Weber is “very concerned about Turkey`s announced intention to carry out drilling activities within the EEZ (exclusive economic zone) of Cyprus, he said in a statement on Sunday night.
“We are following closely these developments and will respond appropriately and in solidarity with Cyprus”, stated Manfred Weber.
The EPP itself “condemns Turkey`s announcement of their intention to carry out drilling activities within the EEZ of Cyprus,” will be “in close contact with Averof Neofytou, President of DISY, the announcement says, adding that “Cyprus can expect our full support”.
