An 85 year old man from Dora village, Limassol, was fatally injured after falling from an exterior staircase at his home.
Philenews said the man had climbed the stairs in order to pick fruit.
Under circumstances which are being investigated, he lost his balance and fell and was killed instantly, the website added.
The elderly man was found by his son who called the police.
State pathologist Eleni Antoniou was due to carry out a post mortem on Friday morning in order to determine the exact cause of death.
