Elderly deaths due to the spread of coronavirus in Cyprus remains a concern, Philenews reported on Friday.
As a matter of fact, 42 people died from the virus so far this month with 19 of them – aged between 80 and 84 -being residents of old peoples’ homes.
Most covid-related deaths in November when the highest number of positive cases were detected in old peoples’ homes in Limassol were again of people aged 80 and above.
In December, the capital of Nicosia recorded the highest number of positive covid cases with most of those who passed away being residents of old peoples’ homes.
Health authorities on Thursday announced 457 cases of Covid-19 – a new daily record – with the total now being 16,647 since the outbreak began in March.
