Famagusta district court on Friday handed down a €1000 fine and a suspended jail sentence to a 33 year old man from Limassol after finding him guilty of threatening and assaulting a police officer and breaking the stay at home decree.
The court sentenced the defendant to 120 days jail, suspended for three years for threatening a police officer, 150 days in prison, suspended for three years for assaulting a police officer and €1000 for breaking the stay at home decree.
The offences were committed in Paralimni on April 6.
