The Cyprus Photographic Society (CPS) recently awarded the best pictures awards for the competition “Drought in Cyprus” which was organised in collaboration with the Limassol Waterboard.
A judging committee, comprised of Socratis Metaxas and Klitos Paisanos (on behalf of Limassol’s Waterboard), Thanos Savvides (President of CPS Paphos), Stelios Paphitis (Professional Photographer) and Robert Voskeritchian (Professional Photographer), awarded eight photographs and chose several others, to be exhibited on March 22, during a special event on the occasion of World Water Day as well as in May 2019, during an event, outside the Water Museum.
In total, 14 entrants submitted 119 photographs.
Loizos Economides won the first prize for his picture ‘Yermasoyia Dam’.
Maria Tofaridou won second prize for her picture ‘A little mud‘.
Loizos Economides won third prize for his picture ‘Koutrafas‘.
Also, five other pictures received honourable mentions:

2nd Hon. Mention, ‘Cracks’ – Maria Tofaridou
3rd Hon. Mention, ‘Cypresses in the background’ – Erato Kantouna
4th Hon. Mention, ‘River bed’ – Maria Tofaridou
5th Hon. Mention, ‘Upheaval’ – Liza Olimpieva
