A refuse collector is in hospital after a 22 year old driver seven times over the alcohol limit crashed into the back of a municipal refuse collection truck in Limassol.
Police said the accident occurred on Makarios Avenue at around 2.45 am on Sunday. Under conditions which are being investigated the car driven by the 22 year old collided into the back of the refuse truck. Two refuse collectors were standing on the back of the truck. One of them sustained serious injuries to the legs and has been hospitalised.
The driver was tested for alcohol with a reading of 63 mg — seven times the legal limit of 9 mg and was arrested.
