A man reported driving in the opposite direction of the flow of traffic on the Nicosia-Limassol highway on Wednesday night was nearly four times over the limit.
Police said that around 11 pm they had received a report of car moving against the flow of traffic near Latsia on the Nicosia-Limassol highway.
As they headed to the area they received a second report that the driver had turned round, headed towards the Kalispera traffic lights and then entered the correct lane for Limassol.
He was stopped by police and the driver was found to be a 42 year old resident of the Famagusta district. A breathalyser test showed a reading of 80 mg — nearly four times the legal limit of 22 mg.
