DP World Limassol committed to making port major cruise hub

DP World Limassol, operator of the New Passenger Terminal at Limassol Port, has reaffirmed its commitment to establishing Limassol port as a major cruise hub in the Mediterranean Sea.

In statements on occasion of this year’s World Tourism Day DP World Limassol general manager Charles Meaby sent the message that the company is committed to helping Limassol reach its potential and enhance its position in the regional cruise map.

“DP World Limassol focuses its efforts on establishing Cyprus as an attractive destination, transforming the port into a home port that will be chosen by cruise lines and visitors, offering at the same time a world-class experience to our customers,” he said.

And he added: “As part of DP World’s legacy, we seek to infuse innovation throughout our operations. We embrace technology and seek to leverage our expertise to the benefit of our customers, the local community and all other stakeholders”.

The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day, marked on September 27, is “Tourism and the Digital Transformation.”

In relation to upgrading the technological infrastructure and the tourism product, Meaby highlighted the need for collaborative support of all the stakeholders and partners.

“Team effort is crucial for the growth of cruise tourism in Cyprus. Joint and collaborative approach is key in order to feel the positive effects of a solid tourism industry in Cyprus”, he noted.

The General Manager of DP World Limassol added that all stakeholders and partners, including government authorities, need to invest in improving and modernizing the reliability and quality of their products and services. Sustainability is also a key factor in ensuring the success of the tourism industry in Cyprus, he noted.
