The Department of Meteorology issued a yellow warning for isolated heavy thunderstorms.
The warning is valid from 12.00 until 18.00 (local time) on Thursday. According to the announcement, isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect inland, mountainous as well as coastal areas over the eastern half of the island.
Shower rates may reach 50 millimeters per hour, while hail is also likely, the announcement concludes.
