The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority early on Tuesday announced that due to technical problems the telephone line numbers of the CyBC, Police Headquarters and Fire Service in Nicosia were down for two hours.
But that they were back in operation by 9:30am and that technicians are trying to ensure the problem will not resurface.
For emergencies only, people had been asked to contact the island’s Fire Service at 99-257245.
