House President Demetris Syllouris has submitted a proposal, which was unanimously accepted, for Cyprus to host the next Conference of the Presidents of the Small European States’ Parliaments.
According to a press release by the Cyprus Parliament, the 12th Conference, which wrapped up in Liechtenstein, approved a joint declaration, which includes a proposal by Syllouris for the next Conference to take place in Cyprus.
The proposal was approved unanimously.
The joint declaration also notes the need for the respect of international law and international treaties by all states, as small states are dependent on the stability and coherence of the international rule of law.
