Cyprus will soon have specialized high-tech equipment and software for surveying road conditions following the signing on Tuesday of a contract between the Transport Ministry and Australia-based ARRB Systems.
ARRB Systems manufactures and sells equipment and software for surveying road conditions with a modular vehicle system that can be customized for clients’ needs.
The system adopts modern practices related to improving the safety and comfort of citizens using the road network. The condition of roads is at times deplorable with countless potholes.
Inspection of roads will now be carried out automatically without the need for them to be temporarily closed to traffic.
At the same time, it will be easier for the works department to take a decision regarding the extent of maintenance that the road network needs and on the necessary prioritization.
