A joint Search and Rescue (SAR) Exercise, titled “CYDEU 01/20” was conducted on Thursday near the coast of Cyprus, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Larnaca said.
The exercise was conducted within the framework of cooperation between Cyprus and Germany, aiming the successful confrontation of Search and Rescue incidents or emergency situations that might arise within the Search and Rescue Region of the Republic of Cyprus.
The German Corvette «FGS LUDWIGSHAFEN AM RHEIN», Air Asset from Cyprus Police Aviation Unit of the RoC and Specialized registered nurses of the State Health Service Organization took part in the Aeronautical SAR Exercise under the operational control and coordination of the JRCC Larnaca, in close cooperation with the German Navy.
SAREX “CYDEU-01/20” is conducted within the framework of a long-lasting cooperation, between the JRCC Larnaca (which represents the SAR system of the Republic of Cyprus) and the German Navy.
