Limassol port to welcome increased number of cruise ships in 2022

Relevant News

Limassol port is expected to welcome over 150 cruise ships and some 160,000 passengers this year recording a substantial increase compared to 2020 and 2021.

This is what Philenews reported on Monday, adding that more than one of the world’s leading cruise operators have chosen Limassol port as their starting point.

At the same time, Cypriots seem to favour cruising for their holidays mainly because it provides luxury with sigh-seeing. Several cruise ships are described as mobile cities, afterall.

DP World Limassol’s Doros Aresti also told Philenews that 2022 is to record a significant increase compared to 2019 which was a year of recovery for cruise tourism in Cyprus. And that the upward trend is expected to continue and even improve in 2023.

“After two years of the coronavirus pandemic, we are quite optimistic about the prospects of 2022 and 2023,” he said.

“The terminal of DP World Limassol in the port of Limassol now attracts cruise industry giants and this confirms the quality of services provided,” he added.
