People aged 69 and above in Cyprus can arrange an appointment for a coronavirus jab as of Wednesday, 9 am, when the government’s public portal is set to go live.
Specifically, a total of 17,496 appointments for a vaccine will be on offer at centres all across Cyprus.
The three available vaccines are those licensed by the European Medicines Agency – that is, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca.
Within days, the European health body will also evaluate an application submitted by Johnson & Johnson its single-dose vaccine to be licensed.
As of Monday, March 1, a total of 82,564 jabs were carried out in vaccination centres in all of the island’s districts.
Last week, two new vaccination centre began operation – in Larnaca and in Paphos.
When all vaccination centres are in full operation, up to 15,000 jabs per day can be carried out.
