Famagusta district court on Friday handed down a 60 day prison sentence, suspended for three years, to a seventeen and a half year old found guilty of driving without insurance and with a revoked driving licence. The youth was also driving without the permission of the owner of the vehicle, without road tax and without MOT.
Police said that in its decision, the court also prohibited the defendant from driving for six months, imposed a six month fine and issued a supervision decree that the individual remain at school.
In passing sentence, the court also took into consideration another case with the same charges as well as the additional offences of driving with windows with restricted visibility and failing to comply with a police officer’s signal.
