Coronavirus: Three repatriation flights from Larnaca today

Another three repatriation flights are scheduled from Larnaca Airport today taking tourists stranded in Cyprus back home.

According to a post on the website of the Ukrainian embassy in Nicosia, 119 passengers left aboard a SkyUp Airlines flight to Kiev.

Citing sources, the Cyprus News Agency said a Norwegian Air flight will depart for Oslo at 13.45 with 188 passengers and a little after 16.00 a Lufthansa flight will depart for Frankfurt with 130 passengers.

Three flights landed at Larnaca yesterday from Moscow, Belgrade and Athens bringing 61 passengers. All are quarantined.

The airplanes returned to the three cities with 284 passengers stranded here.

A decree effective from March 21 bans passenger flights . However, the Transport Minister can give special permission to facilitate rescue flights for those stranded here and allow those eligible to return to do so.
