Police said on Saturday that they conducted 1,243 checks across the island in the last 24 hours and found no violations of the government’s decree on measures to contain the spread of Covid-19, the CNA reports.
The checks mostly focused on the limit posed on the maximum number of people allowed to assemble in closed spaces or premises ordered to suspend their operation.
Police have performed a total of 6,201 checks all over Cyprus since March 11, of which only 12 cases were found in violation of the measures.
Among establishments checked were restaurants, cafes, department stores and churches.
