Relevant News

A meeting is underway at the Transport Ministry with the participation of the six bus companies (OSEL, EMEL, OSEA,  OSYPA,  ZENON and INTERCITY) to discuss protection measures for drivers and passengers against the coronavirus, philenews reports.

Each company is currently taking its own measures with the cleaning of buses while drivers have been instructed not to accept additional passengers if the bus is full and on busy itineraries at peak times not to allow more than 75 passengers.

It remains to be clarified whether the drivers will be asked to take additional measures. The site notes that information classes held at regular intervals for drivers so that they can renew their professional licences cover such cases.

With the closure of schools in Nicosia there has been a drop in itineraries. All schools islandwide will close from tomorrow.
