Coronavirus: Health Ministry issues revised instructions for travellers

The Health Ministry on Monday issued revised instructions for passengers who do not have any symptoms and have travelled to the following countries in the past 14 days as follows:

Category 1:

– Hubei province in China

– Northern Italy (areas north of Pisa, Rimini and Florence)

– Iran

– South Korea

All passengers who have lived or travelled to the above countries/ areas must go into isolation under medical supervision.

Category 2:

– Rest of China (excluding district of Hubei)

– Central and south Italy

– Japan

– Hong Kong

– Germany

– France

– Spain

– Greece (prefectures of Achaia, Ilia and Zakynthos)

All passengers who have lived or travelled to the above countries/ areas must self-isolate at home for 14 days (restrict close contact and movement, keep basic rules of hygiene and monitor and report symptoms).

Category 3:

– Switzerland

–  United Kingdom

– Netherlands

– Sweden

– Belgium

– Singapore

– Greece (excluding prefectures of Achaia, Ilia and Zakynthos)

All passengers who have lived or travelled to the above countries/ areas must self monitor without any restrictions to their movements and in the event of any symptoms must remain at home and contact 1420 giving their recent travel history.

The epidemiological monitoring unit of the Health Ministry also clarified that all passengers from the three categories will be taken by immigration to the airports’ health office.

The Health Ministry urged all members of the public to adhere to instructions on personal hygiene and take precautions. If they have any symptoms which suggest a respiratory infection they must IMMEDIATELY call 1420, it added.
