A paediatrician at Limassol Hospital and a nurse at Paphos General Hospital are among the nine people who tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, according to multiple media reports.
The doctor had recently travelled to Greece, the same media reports said, adding that the children’s ward at the hospital is closing and the children will be transferred elsewhere.
The nurse had come into contact with a confirmed case at the hospital.
A Nicosia heart surgeon who had travelled to the UK was among the first to test positive for coronavirus. And in Paphos, one doctor and nine nurses were also confirmed on Monday as having contracted the virus from a British patient who had tested positive. The Briton had been visited by relatives from the UK.
