Coronavirus: Cyprus Medical Association ready to help authorities if need arises

Relevant News

The Cyprus Medical Association has assured that it is ready to contribute if and when required to provide support to authorities regarding a possible coronavirus outbreak.

It said the CMA and representatives of member associations had held an urgent meeting on Thursday for coordination on the issue.

All members have received the instructions and recommendations of the Health Ministry as well as the advice to members of the public who are justifiably concerned.

The CMA urged calm and said the public should rely on reputable and reliable sources for information such as the state, authorised individuals, scientists and institutional organs of the medical community.

Doctors are keeping channels of communication open to update members on new developments as well as the latest instructions to prevent and deal with the issue.

An important message to the public which contains the spread of the virus is for anyone presenting symptoms of a cold or flu to remain at home and contact their doctor, avoid crowds and not rush to hospital and medical centres without first contacting them.

More information is available on the CMA’s website.
