All people arriving in Cyprus must self-isolate for 14 days, except for those coming from Italy, Iran, South Korea and Hubei province in China who will be quarantined, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

In an announcement, the Health Ministry said that after consultations with the European Centre for Disease Control and the consultative committee of experts and following the measures announced by President Nicos Anastasiades, it has revised instructions to passengers who have travelled in the past 14 days, effective from Sunday, March 15.

Category 1: Compulsory medical quarantine at home (if possible) or facilities suggested by the Health Ministry for 14 days after their departure from  Hubei province in China, Italy, Iran and South Korea.

Category 2:  Self-isolation under telephone monitoring at their home or facilities suggested by the Health Ministry (avoid close contact, movement and travel, adhere to basic rules of hygiene, monitor and report symptoms to 1420)  for 14 days from their departure from all other countries.

Detailed instructions for people in self-isolation of quarantine can be found on: https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/. Alternatively click here.

Thermal cameras will screen all arriving passengers at the airports in categories 1 and 2. They will then go to the medical office at the airport.

Citizens of the above categories who wish to leave Cyprus before the 14 days are over can do so provided they have no symptoms.

Citizens in category 2 who arrived in Cyprus before March 15 and the 14 days have not passed since their arrival are advised to remain in self-isolation and to self-monitor until the 14 days are over.
