Coronavirus: 12 deaths, 10,152 new infections between July 13 and 21

Twelve coronavirus deaths and 10,152 new infections were recorded between July 13 and 21, the Health Ministry said on Friday.

According to the latest report, the cases were detected from 111,067 rapid and PCR tests with the island’s positivity rate dropping to 9.14 percent compared to 12.58 per cent the previous week.

The deaths concerned:

  • Man, aged 85, who passed away on July 13
  • Man, aged 86, who passed away on July 13
  • Woman, aged 77, who passed away on July 14
  • Man, aged 91, who passed away on July 15
  • Woman, aged 91, who passed away on July 15
  • Man, aged 91, who passed away on July 17
  • Woman, aged 107 years, who passed away on July 17
  • Man, aged 98, who passed away on July 17
  • Man, aged 80, who passed away on July 18
  • Man, aged 94, who passed away on July 19
  • Man, aged 77, who passed away on July 20
  • Man, aged 91, who passed away on July 21

This brings the total number of Covid-19 fatalities to 1099.

Regarding hospitalisations, the Ministry said some 104 people were treated with coronavirus in state hospitals, of whom 11 were in serious condition and four are intubated.

And one patient, who stopped being infectious, remains intubated in the ICU due to coronavirus, it added.
