The island’s eight presidential election candidates will be coordinating action this week so that live televised debates do take place soon, Philenews reported on Monday citing insiders.
February 2023 elections’ official runners are Averof Neophytou, Nikos Christodoulides, Andreas Mavroyiannis, Achilleas Demetriades, Marios Eliades, Giorgos Colocasides, Constantinos Christofides and Christos Christou.
Suggestions and proposals of chief campaign staff are expected to be sent electronically and the hope is that, this time, the communication will flow smoothly and no misunderstandings will arise between candidates.
An exact date for holding a new meeting in which all chief of staff will participate without exception has not been determined but Wednesday seems to be a good day for that, according to insiders.
There seems to be an agreement between the chiefs of staff so that each side will send proposals for the structure and way of implementation of the debates.
