Confusion prevails over free antigen rapid tests in Limassol, Paphos

Confusion seems to prevail over the free programme which began on Monday in Limassol and Paphos to check citizens for coronavirus through antigen rapid tests, according to Philenews.

Citizens who need a positive test so as to get an exempt document allowing them to move in and out the locked down districts of Limassol and Paphos on Monday mistakenly rushed to where the rapid tests are taking place.

Even though this group of people, mainly workers, need to present a CPR method positive test.

The Health Ministry has clarified that antigen rapid tests will be used in hospitals and other places where there is a large number of people, such as army camps and schools. That is, where quick results are necessary.

The Ministry also said that these tests are another tool at its disposal for the timely detection of individuals positive to Covid-19. And, consequently, they will lead to limiting the coronavirus spread in the community.
