Complaint against MP in Attorney General’s hands

Relevant News

A woman recently filed a complaint against a Member of Parliament. At this stage, the Police is involved in the matter, while the Attorney General will be informed during the course of the next few days.

The case goes back to about a month ago, when the MP had filed a complaint against that woman about issues related to her work. In fact, a complaint was made to the Police and elsewhere. The woman then went to the Police and made an oral complaint against the MP, claiming that the MP annoyed and insulted her, and that on one accession, she had found him in her courtyard. At the time, the woman asked the Police to make a simple remark to the MP and asked for the matter to end there, without a criminal investigation.

According to Fileleftheros Newspaper, the Police briefed the Attorney General who, at the time, explained that without a written complaint the case could not proceed. Following these instructions, the Police referred to the woman in question, who then gave a written complaint in which she reiterated her allegations.

Following the written complaint, the Criminal Investigation Department of the district where the complainant resides forwarded her testimony to the Police Headquarters so that she could appeal to the Attorney General in order for him to decide what further actions could be taken.
