The residents of the nine communities of Vassiliko gave the green light to their legal advisers to investigate the possibility of taking legal measures against the Republic of Cyprus and to apply to the European Court of Human Rights due to the accumulation of factories in their area. Following the 12-hour blockade of the Energy Center last Monday, the residents decided to continue their measures.
In a relevant meeting, they decided to first attempt to meet with the President of the Republic to request annulment of the decision to transfer three factories to their area.
If the President does not respond them they will proceed with closing the Energy Center indefinitely, and will carry out a march toward the Presidential Palace.
At the same time, the community heads of the area will have meetings with three candidates for the presidency while they will also express their views during the House Environment Committee that will meet today.
