Major General Robert J. Thomson, Commander of the British Forces in Cyprus shared his wishes ahead of the Easter holiday in Cyprus.
In a video issued on Thursday, the Commander sent a hopeful message on the fight against Covid-19, saying that “whilst there may not be necessarily the singing in the churches and the gathering of the families that we’d want, let’s keep one eye on next year’s Easter when we hope that we will be able to return to normality.”
The Commander also extended his gratitude to the public for sticking by the measures, especially thanking “our wonderful medics for what they’ve done to look after us in these difficult and unprecedented times.”
“Happy Easter to all. We will make it together,” the Commander said in Greek in conclusion.
