Civil Defence responded to 20,000 calls for information on lockdown measures

According to data released on Friday by Cyprus Civil Defence, the latter’s call operators responded since March 28 to 20,000 phone calls from the public requesting information on the government’s movement restriction measures for Coronavirus.

The Civil Defence also conducts patrols in support of Municipalities and the Police enforcing the government’s decrees.

It has also made available to the Health Ministry its storage supplies in medical consumables, while its members are on high alert to help with any emergencies that may arise during the pandemic (fires, floods etc).

Its members staff the Interior Ministry’s call centre, providing information to citizens as per the Ministry’s provided guidelines.
