Christodoulides thanks socialist Edek for backing his 2023 presidential elections bid

Centre Diko-backed Nikos Christodoulides on Thursday welcomed the decision by socialist Edek to also support his candidacy for the February 2023 Presidential Elections.

A bid, the former foreign minister also said in a written statement, that society at large has kick-started since it focuses on society’s needs.

Christodoulides is the upcoming race’s frontrunner, according to latest opinion polls.

Thanking Edek for their decision on Wednesday to put their trust in him, he noted that this reflects society’s expectations for “above party, ideological and other differences” stands.

He then repeated that the goal is for a collective and more effective response to daily challenges and problems.

“In this collective effort no one is left out,” added Christodoulides who is affiliated with ruling Disy but he is now challenging the right-wing party’s leader and nominated election candidate Avefor Neophytou.
