Chaos prevailed on Sunday at rapid-19 rapid test sites the day before schools open

Relevant News

With all students, teachers and other staff returning to school on Monday with a negative coronavirus rapid test in hand chaos prevailed on Sunday at free sampling centres all across Cyprus.

Despite the increase in sampling centers announced by the Health Ministry it appears that those were not enough for the inconvenience to be avoided.

People reportedly waited in long queues, even in the rain, and this sparked a storm of complaints not only amongst students but also by hundreds of adults who needed a negative test to return back to work.

There were cases where children were given priority in some testing sites despite the fact that those left behind were elderly and vulnerable people.

At the same time, complaints were expressed about the failure of those responsible to take provisions that would protect citizens from sudden rain and thunder.

As a result, many people were getting wet while waiting, unable to even run away to secure an umbrella or whatever else  as they would lose their turn and have to wait extra time.
