Bus drivers in Nicosia and Larnaca on Tuesday morning went on a strike in protest over their working conditions.
They have not been paid for months, a spokesman told state radio, adding that further decisions will be taken at an extraordinary meeting set at 10 am at the Communications and Works Ministry.
District meetings of the employees will follow.
