Burglars broke into a house in Tala and managed to steal the contents of a safe, philenews reported.
It said that the Cypriot resident had reported to police that his house had been burgled when he was away.
Police went to the scene and found that the burglars had gained access by breaking the aluminium bedroom window.
They then used a sharp object to break into the safe from which they stole 500 euro as well as jewellery and other precious items of an unknown value.
Police inquiries continue.
