A nine year old boy who was in extremely critical condition in hospital after being brought to shore unconscious in Limassol yesterday has died, police said.
Poseidonas Hadjitserkotis was spotted by swimmers at the bottom of the sea, at a depth of about one metre, yesterday morning.
He was brought to shore and lifeguards administered first aid and used a defibrillator. The boy was then rushed to Limassol Hospital where doctors were able to revive him. He was then intubated and transferred to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia where he died a little before midnight.
