The Fire Service was today at noon sent to put out a huge fire within land belonging to Metochi Kykkou.
However, the smoke that had caused concern to the residents and workers in the area was due to scorching of huge quantities of wood and weeds.
The Firemen did not have to intervene but remained in the area just in case.
