Ban on visits to elderly peoples’ homes lifted, but rapid test a must

The ban on visits to elderly peoples’ homes was lifted on Thursday but a rapid test in hand is a must for all entering such places no matter what their vaccination history might be.

A rapid test is also required from people who have recently recovered from Covid-19, according to a official announcement.

“Admission to these places is allowed only to persons who have completed their vaccination regime and the period of 7 months has not elapsed, or hold a certificate of the coronavirus infection that has not elapsed the period of 90 days, or received the booster/3rd dose, provided that they provide a negative rapid antigen test of the same day,” it said.

In addition, the government decided that:

—As from Friday, 5:00 pm, the Republic of Cyprus’ accepted entry travel documents are either a 72-hour PCR laboratory test or a 24-hour rapid test.

—In the case of people diagnosed with Covid-19, at least 10 days must have elapsed from the date of sampling a positive result is a must before travelling to the Republic of Cyprus.
