Authorities intensify Covid controls

Authorities have intensified Covid-19 inspections in businesses, conducting 1150 checks across Cyprus on possible violations in accordance with relevant Health Ministry directives to prevent the spread of the disease.

19 businesses and 40 individuals were charged in total.

In Nicosia, 115 checks were conducted, with 7 businesses and 16 individuals charged.

333 checks were conducted in Limassol, with 1 business and 16 individuals charged.

Out of 237 checks in Larnaca, 2 businesses and 5 individuals were charged. One of the businesses did not have the necessary signalling and was fined 500 euros. The 2nd business was not adhering to safety measures in table distancing and was fined 1500 euro.

In Paphos, 52 checks were conducted, with 7 businesses and 1 individual charged.

In the free Famagusta area, out of 247 checks, 2 businesses and 2 people were charged for not wearing their protective masks.

In the Morphou police district, 166 checks were conducted, with no violations reported.

6 passengers were fined at international airports (3 in Larnaca and 3 in Paphos) for not filling out their Cyprus arrival card.
