Five artists with the help of volunteers painted a mural with scenes from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry at the pediatric oncology ward of Makario Children’s Hospital in Nicosia.
Artists Anna Thomaidou, Mary Pillakouri, Christia Andreou, Eleni Constantinou and Maria Georgiou and volunteers Despo Marcou, Anthi Diomedous and Stalo Constantinou joined brushes to mark International Childhood Cancer Day on February 15 by spreading joy to the ward’s young heroes.
The completion of the new wall was celebrated in a small ceremony held at the hospital on Friday attended by all participating artists who also made a donation to the Elpida Foundation for children with cancer and leukaemia.

The murals were sponsored by MAS supermarkets and paint manufacturing company Peletico, which donated the paints and painted the walls that artists used for their creations.
