Nicosia district court on Sunday remanded a 27 year old man in custody for five days as part of a police investigation into arson and theft.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday. It follows a fire at a car mechanic’s workshop near Tseri at 3.10 am on Friday. The fire caused extensive damage to the equipment and to nine cars inside the building.
Police and fire fighters determined the fire had been set deliberately while a car had been stolen from the garage.
